Responsibilities
  • Provide consultative guidance and information to the Plant Leadership Team on EHS priorities and risks, associated costs, performance, major issues, and interpretation of regulatory requirements
  • Keep management apprised of status, trends, and progress compared to goals
  • Assure the development of annual EHS compliance goals, performance targets and budget
  • Coordinate a site-wide system to identify and evaluate key EHS risks, and implement effective corrective actions to control them consistent with the PepsiCo risk management process
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and then manage the implementation and ongoing operation of assigned EHS Program Elements
  • Provide, coordinate, and evaluate the effectiveness of the employee Environmental, Health & Safety training and education programs, including EHS training and orientation for new employees, subject matter experts, and line management
  • Monitor the skills and capabilities of those who assist with (or lead) EHS programs; recommend training; and provide day-to-day coaching, feedback, and functional direction
  • Develop and oversee procedures to review the status and effectiveness of EHS programs, and to make needed improvements
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records for EHS-related activities
  • Participate in the review of new operations, processes, and procedures (as well as proposed changes to existing operations) at the proposal and/or design phase to assure consideration of technical EHS issues / hazards, to submit required permit applications, and to facilitate implementation of effective controls
  • Assure that required regulatory permits are acquired, that reports are submitted to regulatory agencies, and that permit conditions (e.g. sampling, recordkeeping) are being met
  • Implement initiatives to support effective injury/illness case management, return-to-work programs, and investigation and management of problem cases
Qualifications
  • University degree, preferably in Engineering
  • Professional certification in Health & Safety and Risk assessment
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational with a production site facility
  • Solid knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety regulatory requirements, concepts, and best practices
  • Good understanding of the EHS issues, regulations, and technology which impact the food and beverages processing industry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Very good level of English
