Field/ Storage QA Officer

Job Description

Overview

The role is responsible to lead the Agro Quality Assurance agenda and manage the compliance to applicable PepsiCo Agricultural standards in procurement, handling, transportation and storage of Agro raw materials. The role is also responsible to manage the agro product quality and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders (Agro, Production, Farmers and storages) to align and execute action plan for improvement. This role is also responsible for managing potato lab in shifts regarding work force, materials and methods.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the Agro crops quality monitoring system through YSI trend analysis project on potato crop from sowing to consumption with coordination of field Agro staff 2. Implement PepsiCo Agro lab project in field for chip stock potato, potato seed and corn purchasing season3. Lead the capability development agenda for Agro and QA staff on potato testing, storage and transportation 4. Manage in time testing and decision of potatoes and materials being received at site5. Strategic monitoring of potato quality in stores to ensure its use for extended time6. Effectively plan and execute Agro SQA agenda keeping in view the significant number of farmers7. Ensure the storages best practices by planned and unplanned audits of cold store 8. Regular sampling of all storage potato through YSI and mini-frying to assess the overall quality and decision about consumption according to defects level 9. Effectively coordination with R&D and supply chain in all raw material development projects10. Tracking of farmers performance and conduct meetings with farmers regarding material quality issues along future action plan for improvements11. Liaisons with Agro field team to combat quality challenges for potato and corn in field during growing season12. To drive capability agenda of farmers and staff on Agro commodity handling practices to minimize post-harvest losses13. To monitor and track Agro QA budget against plan14. Manage potato lab operations in shifts.15. Effective coordination with Cold store, Process and Operations QA team regarding potato testing, results sharing and uninterrupted production run.16. Implementation of quality and food safety standards in potato lab.17. Ensuring reproducible testing results with proper data records.

  1. Master/ Bachelor Degree in Food Technology/ Agronomy/Horticulture
  2. Good knowledge of material testing and quality assessment
  3. Knowledge of quality and food safety standards

2-4 years with FMCG
